India also won gold in the team event.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar won a bronze medal for India in the 10m Air Rifle Men's Individual event at the Asian Games 2023. Tomar finished behind China’s Sheng Lihao and Hajun Park of South Korea. Sheng Lihao broke the world record with an effort of 253.3 points and won the gold medal, while Hajun Park won silver with 251.3 points. He ended in the third position with 228.8 points.

Following their gold medal win in the men's 10m air rifle team event, Aishwary Pratap and Rudrankksh Patil advanced to the individual event final. They began with steady shooting, consistently scoring over 10.2. After the initial 10 shots, Aishwary was in fourth place, while Rudrankksh held the fifth spot.

However, a few impressive shots of 10.6 allowed Rudrankksh to climb to third place, while Aishwary remained in fourth. Aishwary then eliminated Mongolian shooter Bayaraa Nyantai with a score of 10.7.

Rudrankksh faced a setback with a couple of subpar shots, causing him to drop to fourth place. However, he staged a remarkable comeback with an impressive shot of 10.8, resulting in a shoot-off against Aishwary. At the decisive moment, Aishwary secured a 10.7 compared to Rudrankksh's 10.5, earning him his second medal of the day.

Earlier in the day, Aishwary, Rudrankksh, and Divyansh Singh Panwar achieved a remarkable feat by securing the gold medal in the 10m air rifle team event, breaking a new world record. The Indian trio posted an impressive score of 1893.7, surpassing the previous world record of 1893.3, which was held by the Chinese team from an ISSF Shooting World Cup event in Baku earlier in the year.

India's success in shooting at the event has been substantial, with a total of four medals earned, including Ramita Jindal's bronze in women's 10m air rifle and a silver for the women's rifle team.
