Ashi Chouksey achieved a remarkable feat at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 by earning a silver medal in the women's 10m Air Rifle team event. This achievement was followed by yet another display of skill and determination, as she secured a silver medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Position team event.
Furthermore, Ashi showcased her talent and resilience by claiming a bronze medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Position. Her consistent performance throughout the competition has made her a standout athlete in the event.

A day at NCC camp
Ashi enrolled in the NCC camp located in Panchmarhi during her 9th grade. One day, she and her companions were provided an opportunity to participate in their inaugural NCC camp, which took place in the captivating location of Panchmarhi. During this camp, they were given the task of aiming and firing at targets positioned at a distance of 50m.
Each participant was allotted a total of five shots. Although Ashi even doesn’t remember her score there, it was quite evident that her shooting abilities were exceptional, particularly considering the fact that she had no prior experience in handling firearms.
Encouragement by camp Commander
It can be asserted that individuals often seek the support and inspiration of others to cultivate optimism and achieve personal success. In Ashi's case, she found solace in the guidance of the camp commander during her time at the camp. This mentor's influence nurtured Ashi's dedication for her chosen sport, motivating her to approach it with greater seriousness and explore her potential.
From an IAS dream to Shooting
Like any other child, Ashi also harboured ambitions of excelling academically. Initially, her aspiration was to become an IAS officer, showcasing her determination. However, fate had a different plan for the 21-year-old. Upon discovering her passion for shooting, her focus shifted accordingly. Alongside her sporting pursuit, Ashi is also attending Guru Nanak Dev University, where she is undergoing a degree in sports.
Amidst all this, her goals remain crystal clear. Following her triumph at the Asian Games, the talented shooter now sets her sights on achieving a podium finish at the prestigious Olympics.
Being one of the two kids who were selected for the academy
Ashi and her father were informed about an open selection trial being organized at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy. They decided to attend the event held at the picturesque outskirts of the city. To their astonishment, when the results were announced, Ashi's father wore a look of surprise. Ashi participated in the selection trials, in which she competed against 225 candidates. Remarkably, she emerged as one of the two chosen individuals.
Achievements
She embarked on her shooting career in 2017 and ever since, has garnered numerous accolades in the field. At the senior Shooting World Cup held in Baku in 2022, she proudly secured a gold medal in the 50-metre three-position mixed team event. Additionally, within the same year, she also achieved a commendable bronze medal in the 50-metre three-position mixed team competition at the Changwon World Cup 2022.
Ashi additionally achieved two bronze medals in the singles and women's teams categories at the 2022 Suhl Junior Shooting World Cup.
