How many Olympic quotas can one country win?
Although 36 quota places are available at the championship, a country can secure a maximum of one quota place in each individual event. This means a National Olympic Committee (NOC) can potentially collect up to 12 places in Doha.
The quota belongs to the country rather than automatically going to the shooter who earns it. The respective national federation will later determine which eligible athlete represents the country at the Olympics, in accordance with the selection process.
For India, this provides an opportunity to begin its LA28 qualification campaign across all three shooting disciplines. The country has entered three shooters in each individual Olympic event, giving its athletes multiple chances to compete for the available places.

With 36 places available in Doha, the championship offers shooters an early opportunity to put their countries on the road to Los Angeles. For India, a strong campaign could provide a significant head start in its bid to secure representation across the Olympic shooting programme.
