Manu Bhaker bags bronze in 10m air pistol at Asian Shooting Championship 2025

India also claimed bronze medal in the women’s team event where Manu Bhaker partnered with Palak Gulia and Suruchi Singh.
Ace Indian shooter and two-time Olympic medallist, Manu Bhaker, secured bronze in 10m air pistol women’s individual event at the ongoing Asian Shooting Championship 2025 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
Manu achieved the podium finish with a score of 219.7 points in the eight-player final. China’s Qianke Ma dominated the event with 243.2 points to claim gold, while Jiin Yang of South Korea took silver with 241.6 points.
Bhaker had a good show in the qualification round, finishing second with 583 points to seal her spot in the finals.
India also bagged bronze in the 10m air pistol women’s team event, with Manu partnering with Suruchi Singh and Palak Gulia.
The trio scored 1730 points, narrowly missing silver by just a single point to South Korea and finishing 10 behind champions China. However, Suruchi and Palak couldn’t make it to the individual final.

Earlier, the men’s 10m air pistol team of Anmol Jain, Aditya Malra and Saurabh Chaudhary delivered the country’s first silver of the tournament so far.
Jain also made the individual final, where he placed sixth, though his teammates missed out on qualification.That brings India’s medal tally in senior category so far to three — one silver and two bronze. However, there are more events still to come as the 16th edition of the Asian Shooting championship is set to run until August 30. In the Junior’s category
The Indian contingent will be hoping Bhaker’s return to form is a sign of more medals on the horizon. Her previous outing came at the ISSF World Cup in Munich this June, where she missed a podium finish and placed sixth.
A few months earlier, though, she had underlined her form in Lima by winning silver in the 10m air pistol at the April leg of the World Cup.
