The Indian shooters produced a clinical performance to clinch the medal.

India have improved their medal tally at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Delhi, as the Indian shooters fetched a gold medal in the Skeet Mixed Team event. The duo of Angad Singh Bajwa and Ganemat Sekhon won the medal for the host nation.

Bajwa had a perfect start by hitting his first four targets, but Sekhon had a shaky start as she missed some shots.

Their opponents on the day, the Kazakh duo of Alexandr Yeschenko and Olga Panarina also faced some nervy moments and were inaccurate in the second set, as the Indians picked up their pace and made their dominance count. The Indian shooters hit seven shots on target out of their last eight, while Yeschenko and Panarina managed to hit only five of their last eight shots. The final score read 33-29 in India's favour to bring the gold medal home.

Both Bajwa and Sekhon added to the respective gold and silver medals that they won in the men's and women's team event respectively. They took India's medal tally to 14 in the World Cup, half of which are golds.

Earlier though, India narrowly missed out on adding another bronze medal to the tally, as the duo of Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Mairaj Ahmed Khan went down fighting to the Qatari duo of Rashid Hamad and Reem Al Sharshani.

The final score ended 32-31 in the favour of the Qataris, as Dhaliwal missed her final shot to hand the medal to their opponents on the day.
