For a second consecutive year, Coco Gauff has topped the highest-paid female athletes chart.

The year 2024 saw groundbreaking achievements in sports as athletes showed their excellence through their performances in various sports and games. Additionally, the Paris Olympics kept the audiences engaged as they tuned in to numerous sporting events during the quadrennial games.

It was a remarkable year for female athletes as they not only gained large viewership but also led the way in terms of winnings and endorsements. Coco Gauff, Simone Biles, Iga Swiątek, and Nelly Korda are just a few prominent names who earned big this year. Lydia Ko is the third golfer to make the list of the highest-paid female athletes in 2024. Her biggest achievement was winning the gold medal in women’s individual stroke play at the Paris Olympics 2024. With this, she completed a set of Olympic medals, having won silver in 2016 and bronze in 2020.

Elena Rybakina has bagged $7.9M in 2024, owing to her $3.9M earnings from salary and participation and $4M endorsement deals with Lexus, Red Bull, and Yonex.

Jessica Pegula collected a total income of $8.2M. Her 2024 season saw her bag the Canadian Open title and reach the finals of the US Open. Her sponsorship deals with Adidas, Dyson James Limited, IBM, and Yonex earned her $4M.

12) Jeeno Thitikul (Total=$9.1M, Salary/Winnings=$7.1M, Endorsements=$2M)

Jeeno Thitikul earned $4M by winning the CME Group Tour Championship, which contributed to her $7.1M winnings out of a total of $9.1M. Additionally, she secured $2M through endorsement deals.

Italian tennis star Jasmine Paolini is another athlete who earned big with $10M overall earnings. She had a successful year as she won the women’s singles at the Dubai Tennis Championships, teamed up with Sara Errani to secure the first Olympic tennis gold for the nation, won two WTA 1000 events, and played a key role in Italy’s fifth Billie Jean King Cup victory.

10) Caitlin Clark (Total=$11.1M, Salary/Winnings=$100K, Endorsements=$11M)

Basketball rookie Caitlin Clark has become one of the highest-paid female athletes, ranking tenth among them. Additionally, she secured $11M from deals with Gatorade, Hy-Vee, Nike, State Farm, and Wilson Sporting Goods.

Simone Biles solidified her legacy as the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) gymnast after a remarkable comeback at the Paris Olympics 2024, having stepped away from several events at the Tokyo Olympics due to mental health issues. The 27-year-old secured $11M in endorsements from brands like Coca-Cola, Gap, and Visa, along with $135K from winnings and salary.

8) Nelly Korda (Total=$14.4M, Salary/Winnings=$4.4M, Endorsements=$10M)

Nelly Korda was named the highest-paid golfer of 2024, with total earnings of $14.4M. It was a remarkable year for Korda as she clinched seven LPGA titles, including The Annika, and the Chevron Championship, and was awarded the prestigious LPGA Tour Player of the Year honor.

With sponsorship deals from brands like BMW Group, Cisco, Delta Air Lines, Goldman Sachs, Nike, Richard Mille, T-Mobile, TaylorMade, and Whoop, the American earned $10M in endorsements.

7) Emma Raducanu (Total=$14.7M, Salary/Winnings=$671K, Endorsements=$14M)

After missing most of the 2023 season due to surgeries, Emma Raducanu, returned to competitive tennis, competing in multiple tournaments, including Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and the US Open. Her appearances in these tournaments earned her $671K, while her endorsements with companies such as British Airways, Christian Dior, Evian, HSBC, Nike, Tiffany & Co., and Vodafone fetched her $14M.

After returning to competitions at the Brisbane International in January, Naomi Osaka bagged $870K from her participation in multiple tournaments, before finally ending her season due to injury. However, she garnered a significant amount of $15M through endorsement deals with Autograph, Beats by Dre, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Etsy, Hyperice, Nike, Panasonic, Meta, Modern Health, Tag Heuer, Wowow Inc, Morinaga & Company, Yonex, and Zico.

Aryna Sabalenka had a remarkable 2024 tennis season, during which she collected the Australian Open, Cincinnati Open, US Open, and Wuhan Open singles titles, reclaimed the World No. #1 ranking, and was named WTA Player of the Year. With this, she collected $9.7M in earnings, while from her endorsement deals with Master & Dynamic, Nike, Whoop, and Wilson Sporting Goods, she bagged $8M in prize money.

Chinese tennis sensation Qinwen Zheng has collected a whopping $20.6M in income, which ranks her fourth on the list of highest-paid female athletes. Zheng’s biggest highlight in 2024 was winning the Olympic gold medal in women’s singles as she scripted history as the first Asian, male or female, to claim gold in singles.

Besides this, Zheng’s performance at the WTA Finals and the Australian Open, where she became a finalist, also contributed to her salary and winnings.

Additionally, Zheng bagged $15M in endorsements from her partnerships with Alibaba Group, Audi, Nike, Gatorade, McDonald’s, Tencent Holdings, Weibo, Rolex, and Wilson Sporting Goods.

3) Iga Swiatek (Total=$21.4M, Salary/Winnings=$8.4M, Endorsements=$13M)

Iga Swiątek is the third among the highest-paid female athletes and second highest-paid female tennis player in 2024, with a total earning of $21.4 million. A few of Iga Swiątek’s major achievements in 2024 include winning the Qatar Open for the third consecutive year and claiming the Wells Open during the early hard-court season. 

In the clay season, she became the Madrid Open champion and reached the Italian Open final. Through sponsorship deals with Infosys, Lego Group, On, Porsche, Rolex, and Visa, the Polish tennis star earned $13 million this year.

2) Eileen Gu (Total=$22.1M, Salary/Winnings=$62K, Endorsements=$22M)

Eileen Gu, a two-time Olympic champion in freestyle skiing, ranks as the second highest-paid female athlete. Known for making history as a three-time medalist in a single year at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Gu has earned an impressive $22 million from endorsement deals out of her total income of $22.1 million. 

Her brand partnerships include prominent names like Anta Sports Products, Bosideng International Holdings, IWC Schaffhausen, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Red Bull, and Tiffany & Co.

For a consecutive second year, Coco Gauff has been named the highest-paid female athlete, with a total income of $30.4M. Her most impressive performances in 2024 included winning the women’s singles title at the WTA Finals, the China Open title and her first Grand Slam doubles title at the French Open, which added to her winnings.

Additionally, the 20-year-old earned a whopping $21M from her endorsements with prominent brand partnerships like American Eagle, Carol’s Daughter, New Balance, Baker Tilly Wealth Management, Barilla, Bose, Fanatics, Head, Rolex, and UPS.
