She wrote: “Ok, let’s put the rumours to an end..yes I dated Rohit Sharma.. now it’s over.. I wouldn’t date him again..this time I’m looking for a gentleman.” The post was reported by multiple publications, including The Indian Express.
Hayat went on to make additional mentions of their relationship through the years. Recently, there was a video posted online in 2026 that once more turned the topic into a massive issue, where Hayat personally mentioned the connection she had with the Indian cricketer.
There has not been a documented statement by Rohit Sharma confirming the relationship himself. The closest one is the statement made in 2012 by Hayat herself and not by Rohit. In addition, there were no documents to prove the relationship between the two.
It is more accurate to say that the relationship was publicly acknowledged by Sofia Hayat herself, but neither has the Indian cricketer agreed to it, nor have either of the two parties provided enough proof to establish their side of the truth.
