Anahat Singh has enjoyed a rapid rise in squash world rankings
India’s squash prodigy Anahat Singh climbed three places to become World No. 17 in the latest PSA World Rankings. This rapid rise follows a series of excellent performances across the junior circuit and the PSA Squash Tour.
She recently made history as the first Indian player to win the World Junior Squash Championships title, beating Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem in the final. This topped an excellent year for the 18-year-old, in which she secured podium finishes in tournaments around the world.
Now, the youngster has been tasked with leading India’s squash contingent at the upcoming Asian Games 2026. As the highest-ranked Indian women’s squash player, she will lead India’s medal charge in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Anahat Singh, already considered one of the most exciting young squash players in the world, was a part of the women’s team that won bronze at the Asian Games 2022. She also won bronze in the mixed doubles event in Hangzhou. She then added two bronze medals at the Women’s Asian Squash Team Championships in 2022 and 2023.
The youngster enjoyed a breakthrough season last year, winning golds in women’s and mixed doubles events at the Asian Doubles Squash Championships 2025. She was part of the Indian team that won gold at the Squash World Cup 2025 in Chennai.
She also won a gold and a bronze in the Asian Junior Team Squash Championships, adding to the two golds and two bronzes she had earlier won in this tournament.
A win over Ruqayya Salem made Anahat India’s first World Junior Squash women’s singles champion, ending Egypt’s 16-year dominance in the tournament. She was also part of the Indian team that reached the quarter-finals in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
She reached the British Junior Open final, losing to Lauren Baltayan in the final. She also reached the second round of the Tournament of Champions. Anahat then clinched her first bronze-level title win at the Squash on Fire Open before successfully defending her Indian Open crown.
