The Indian contingent won gold in all three categories at the Asian Squash Doubles Championships.
India scripted history at the ongoing Asian Squash Doubles Championships 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, securing top podium finish in all three categories—men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. This historic clean sweep of gold medals marks India’s most successful performance ever in the tournament and a major milestone in the nation’s squash journey.
While the young mixed doubles duo of Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh lived up to their top seed billing, Anahat also partnered Joshna Chinappa to clinch gold in women’s doubles. Meanwhile, Abhay and Velavan Senthilkumar bagged the top honours in men’s doubles after beating Pakistan 2-1 in the final.
In the men’s doubles final, Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar staged a dramatic comeback to beat Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal. After dropping the first set 9–11, they bounced back with two strong sets of 11–5, 11–5 to seal the tie 2-1 in 88 minutes and secure gold.
Similarly, in women’s doubles, the young and fearless Anahat Singh paired with veteran Joshna Chinappa to outplay Malaysia’s Ainaa Amani and Yee Xin Ying. The Indian pair fought hard after losing the first game 8–11, winning the next two games 11–9 and 11–10.

India’s dominance was sealed with the mixed doubles final, where Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh triumphed in straight games. They defeated Malaysia’s Rachel Arnold and Ameeshenraj Chandaran with scores of 11–9, 11–7.
With this, both Anahat and Abhay became double gold medalists, showcasing consistency and class across formats.
It’s the first time India has won all three golds at an Asian Squash Doubles Championships—marking a shift in regional dominance. The win boosts India’s momentum ahead of major events like the Commonwealth Games 2026 and possibly the 2028 LA Olympics.
