The Asian Table Tennis Championships 2023 has once again brought together the best of the region's players, captivating fans and enthusiasts with their exceptional skills, intense rivalries, and remarkable sportsmanship. This prestigious event, held every two years, has long been a stage for showcasing the prowess of Asian table tennis players and shaping the future of the sport.
The previous edition in 2021 at Doha, saw Indian men's team bagging a bronze medal in the team event - consisting of Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Harmeet Desai, Manav Thakkar, and Sanil Shetty. Also both of the men's doubles pair, Sharath Kamal/Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manav Thakkar/Harmeet Desai, clinched the bronze in the doubles event.
