Manika Batra leads India’s challenge at the WTT Star Contender Brazil 2025.
The WTT Star Contender Brazil 2025, officially known as WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025, is set to take place from July 30 to August 3, 2025, at the Rafain Convention Center, Foz do Iguaçu. The prestigious event will host top global paddlers across men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.
This table tennis tournament marks a homecoming for Brazil’s star Hugo Calderano, who enters as the top seed in men’s singles. He’ll be joined by Bruna Takahashi, the country’s highest-ranked female paddler, in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
Manav Thakkar, currently ranked 46 in the men’s singles world rankings, will feature directly in the main draw of the WTT Star Contender Brazil 2025. He will be joined in the men’s singles competition by compatriots Harmeet Desai, Manush Shah, and Snehit Suravajjula.
In women’s singles, Manika Batra will lead the Indian contingent, along with Ayhika Mukherjee, Diya Chitale, Yashaswini Ghorpade, and Swastika Ghosh, all of whom will look to make an impact in a strong field.
In the men’s doubles event, Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah will pair up once again, while Payas Jain/Ankur Bhattacharjee and Harmeet Desai/Snehit Suravajjula will also be in action.
