Chennai Lions won UTT Season 3 in their maiden appearance.

Chennai Lions will begin their Ultimate Table Tennis 2025 campaign against Kolkata ThunderBlades on Monday (June 2). This will be the Chennai-based franchise’s fourth season in the premier Table Tennis event. All matches of UTT Season 6 will take place at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad.

The Lions will play five group stage matches in the Ultimate Table Tennis 2025 against Kolkata ThunderBlades, Ahmedabad SG Pipers, U Mumba TT, Dempo Goa Challengers, and Jaipur Patriots. The top four teams at the end of the league stage will secure a place in the next round of the competition.

Chennai have a weak squad for the sixth edition of the Ultimate Table Tennis. Despite a good outing in the previous season, they picked up a fresh team for the upcoming season. Moreover, Sharath Kamal’s retirement will impact the franchise’s chances.

The Chennai-based club is a weak team on paper and will need some exceptional performances to break into the Top four.

Chennai Lions’ performance in Ultimate Table Tennis

Chennai Lions won the Ultimate Table Tennis trophy in their maiden appearance, having defeated Dabang Delhi TTC in the final. They finished as runner-up in UTT Season 4 after suffering a marginal defeat to Goa Challengers in the final clash.

The Chennai-based franchise missed the Ultimate Table Tennis semi-finals after finishing fifth in Season 5. They tied with Goa Challengers with 37 points each, but the Challengers went through to the next round, having won three out of five ties.
