The WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026 will be held from February 10 to 15.

The WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026 will commence on February 10 and conclude on February 15 at the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University in Chennai. This prestigious tournament is part of the WTT Star Contender series, featuring only the world’s top-ranked players competing for a prize pool of USD 300,000.

The tournament will feature competitions in five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. A minimum of six players from the world’s top 20 rankings are expected to participate.

The WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026 follows the standard format with a 48-player main draw for singles events (32 direct entries and 16 from qualifiers) and a 16-team main draw for all doubles categories with qualifying rounds.

The qualifying rounds will take place from February 10 to 11, with the main draw action kicking off on February 12. The tournament will feature multiple sessions each day, with the finals scheduled for Sunday, February 15.

Several top international stars will grace the Chennai tournament. In the men’s singles, OH Junsung (South Korea), Dimitrij OVTCHAROV (Germany), and Manav THAKKAR (India) are among the top seeds. The women’s singles will see top players like Satsuki ODO (Japan), Miyu NAGASAKI (Japan), and JOO Cheonhui (South Korea) in action.

India will have strong representation across all categories. In men’s singles, Manav Thakkar, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Manush Shah, Harmeet Desai, Snehit Suravajjula, and Akash Pal will compete in the main draw. The women’s contingent includes Yashaswini Ghorpade, Ayhika Mukherjee, Diya Chitale, and Swastika Ghosh.
