WTT Champions Montpellier 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra will be in fray for India at WTT Champions Montpellier 2024.

The WTT Champions Montpellier 2024 is set to begin from October 22 at the Sud de France ARENA, featuring top table tennis talent from around the world. Among the latest additions are Xiang Peng and Doo Hoi Kem joining as WTT Nominations.

Xiang Peng enters the tournament with momentum after his impressive semi-final finish at China Smash 2024. The young star defeated players like Felix Lebrun and Truls Moregard in Beijing.

Doo Hoi Kem, former World No. 7 takes her place in the women’s singles draw. Her best WTT Champions performance to-date was a quarter-final appearance at the ESS 2022. Doo recently reached the semi-finals at the 27th ITTF-Asian Table Tennis Championships 2024.

Indian stars Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra are also expected to compete in Montpellier. Both players made history at the Paris Olympics 2024, reaching the Round of 16 in singles – a first for Indian table tennis.Akula, currently ranked World No. 25 has had a slick 2024 season. She clinched WTT singles titles in Corpus Christi and Beirut and also won both singles and doubles titles at the WTT Contender Lagos.Batra, now World No. 30 has also been top-notch in 2024. Batra became the first Indian singles table tennis player to reach the quarterfinals of a WTT Grand Smash and at the Olympics by defeating World No. 18 Prithika Pavade, before bowing out to Japan’s Miu Hirano.
