India beat Denmark 4-0 in their last meeting.

India face Denmark in the World Group I play-off first round of the Davis Cup. The away tie will take place at the Royal Stage in Hillerød, Denmark, with the winner progressing to the Davis Cup World Group 1 qualifiers. This will be the second meeting in as many years between these two teams. India beat Denmark, who was without their top singles star Holger Rune, 4-0 in their last meeting in New Delhi in 2022. Current World No. 9 Rune, who beat Novak Djokovic in the 2022 Paris Masters final to become the youngest champion in Paris since Boris Becker in 1986, is returning in the away leg.

The India vs Denmark, Davis Cup tie will be held on February 3 and 4. Yuki Bhambri and Sumit Nagal were nominated to play the singles matches on day 1 of the clash. Rohan Bopanna will partner Yuki Bhambri in the doubles to kick-start day 2 before the return singles matches.

Yuki Bhambri will start the proceedings in singles against World No. 9 Holger Rune. Sumit Nagal will then face August Holmgren in the final match of day 1.

The singles match is likely going to decide the fate of the match and Holger Rune will be the key for Denmark with the star needing to win two singles match out of the five encounters. From India’s point of view, the doubles team looks set to win their match and it will boil down to Yuki Bhambri and Sumit Nagal winning their non-Holger Rune match and winning the tie (3-2).
