Doubles player Arjun Khade will be the lone Indian in action on Wednesday.

Day 2 wasn't a good day for the Indians in the singles section of Tata Open Maharashtra 2023 with Ramanathan and Sasikumar Mukund making first-round exits. Ramanathan won the first set and was looking in good touch but couldn't convert a few crucial points costing him the match. Sasikumar Mukund, India’s number one singles, could have taken the match to three sets but let the opponent win break points.

In the doubles section, Yuki Bhambri/Saketh Myneni bowed out losing to the third seed in three games. After winning the first set the Indian pair was leading (4-2) but couldn't hold on to their serve taking the game to the tiebreak. Doubles specialist Rohan Bopanna too lost in the opening round against Ramanathan/Varela. Ramanathan shall be a happy man, who initially lost a tight singles match but won his doubles encounter against his Indian counterpart.

Sriram Balaji/Jeevan won the all-Indian battle against Sharan/Raja quite comfortably in straight sets.
