Billie Jean King Cup 2023: Schedule, Indian squad, results, telecast and more
India’s number-one-ranked women’s tennis player Ankita Raina will spearhead the contingent.
Uzbekistan is set to host the Billie Jean King Cup (Asia/Oceania) Group I matches from 11 April 2023 to 15 April 2023. Six teams consisting of China, South Korea, India, Japan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan are set to take part in the prestigious women’s tennis tournament.
Until 2019, the tennis tournament was named the Fed Cup and then was changed to Billie Jean King Cup (in 2020). The top teams after the end of the round-robin format progress to the qualifiers while the bottom two teams demote to Group II. The Indian team finished third in the previous edition and this time will look to go a step further and progress to the qualifiers.

India’s number one ranked women’s tennis player Ankita Raina will spearhead the contingent and will be partnered by Karman Kaur Thandi in the second singles (most likely).
Format
A tie consists of two singles matches followed by a doubles match. Each team will play a total of five ties. The top two qualify for the playoffs while the bottom two get relegated to Group II.
