Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek are the top seeds in the men’s and women’s singles respectively. World No.1 Novak Djokovic has pulled out of the prestigious tournament due to an injury. The Australian Open champion has failed to prove his mark in the clay season exiting early (at Monte Carlo Masters and Banja Luka Open). Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, continues to stay out due to an injury.
Dusan Lajovic of Serbia defeated four top 10 seeded players (Novak Djokovic, Andrey Rublev, Kecmanovic, and Barrere) en route to the title run at the Banja Luka Open. Lajovic will look to carry on the momentum and is set to meet Jason Kubler in the opening round.
