Manas Dhamne qualifies for main draw of Junior Wimbledon 2023

The youngster 15-year-old turned pro this year by taking part in the Maharashtra Open.
India's young tennis sensation Manas Dhamne qualified to the main draw in boys' singles in Junior Wimbledon 2023. The 15-year-old defeated seventh seed Vuk Radjenovic of Serbia (6-3, 6-2) and 10th seed Atakan Karahan (6-2, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8)) from Turkey in the qualifying rounds to progress to the Junior Wimbledon main draw.
His compatriot and fourth seed Aryan Shah had a tough outing losing in the final qualifying round to De Michelle in straight sets. Aryan, 17, defeated South Korea's Suengmin Park ( 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5)) in the opening round but lost to eleventh seed De Michelle from France (3-6, 3-6) in a one-sided contest.
On the other hand, Yuvan Nandal earned an automatic qualification to the main draw of boys' singles and will take on Czech Republic's Jan Hrazdil in the opening round.
Manas Dhamne's performance in 2023
The youngster from Maharashtra has enjoyed reasonable success this season. He turned pro this year by taking part in Maharashtra Open (ATP 250) as a wildcard but lost to USA's Michael Mmoh in straight sets. Mmoh heaped high praises on the teenager and iterated Manas to be the one to watch out in the future.
With his appearance at the Maharashtra Open, Manas Dhamne became the first player born in 2007 to play a main draw match on the tour. Subsequently, Manas became the youngest player to win a first-round match by defeating Jeremy Zhang in straight sets at the Australian Open in boys' singles.
After two consecutive first round losses at M15 Monastir Open, Manas finally opened his account ATP rankings tally by defeating Fernandez Flores in the opening round at M15 Casablanca. He defeated two top 800 ranked players enroute to the quarter-finals finish. Currently, the teenager trains under Riccardo Piatti, who has trained several high-profile players like Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner etc at the Piatti tennis centre in Italy.
