Rohan Bopanna-Matt Ebden and Wesley Koolhof/Nikola Mektic go head-to-head against each other on 22 January in the third round of the Australian Open 2024.
The 2023 season was a successful one for Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, who claimed the titles at the Indian Wells Masters and the Doha ATP 250 event. The duo also made it to the finals and semifinals at several other tournaments, such as ATP Masters 1000 Madrid (Finals), Wimbledon (semifinals), US Open (Finals), ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai (Finals), ATP Masters 1000 Paris (Finals), and Nitto ATP Finals (Semifinals).
Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic secured Auckland in early 2024. The pair from the Netherlands and Croatia overcame the top-seeded Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos 6-3, 6-7(5), 10-7 to lift the ATP 250 trophy.
Koolhof and Mektic, both former No. 1s in the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Rankings, were competing in their first tournament together since their victory at the 2020 Nitto ATP Finals — where they also defeated Granollers and Zeballos in the last four.

With a dominant performance in straight sets, the second-seeded duo defeated the Australian pair of John Millman and Edward Winter in the second round of the men’s doubles at the Australian Open.
Bopanna and Ebden, who were the runners-up at the 2023 US Open, had won their first-round match against another Australian team of James Duckworth and Marc Polmans in three tie-breakers 7-6 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (10).
Koolhof and Mektic are also off to a quick start at Melbourne Park. The Duo defeated French Pair of Sadio Roumbia and Fabien Reboul in a three-setter in the first round 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.
Auckland Open winners were ruthless against Harri Heliovaara and John Peers. Duo defeated Swedish/ Australian Pair 6-1, 6-4.
