India vs Pakistan, Davis Cup World Group I tie: Schedule, results, live streaming details
Two countries will play Davis Cup tie on Pakistani soil since 1964
The 2024 Davis Cup World Group I and II Play-offs will begin in about 24 hours. 70 nations will compete over the weekend for a chance to advance to the next stage of the tournament. 12 of the 24 nations in the qualifiers will join the 2023 finalists and two wild card teams in the Davis Cup Finals Group Stage. The winners of the play-offs will play in the World Group I and II in September 2024, against the 12 nations that lost the qualifiers.
Among the many contenders, India and Pakistan will face each other from February 3-4 at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad. This will be the first play-off for India since their star player Rohan Bopanna retired from the Davis Cup. The veteran won his last Davis Cup match against Morocco in 2023, leading India to a convincing 4-1 victory.
Bopanna, 43, also made history by winning the 2024 Australian Open doubles title with Australian partner Matthew Ebden, becoming the oldest No. 1 in ATP rankings.
India has a strong record against Pakistan in the Davis Cup, having won their last encounter 4-0 in Kazakhstan. This will be the first time the two countries will play a Davis Cup tie on Pakistani soil since 1964.
