Alexander Zverev vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina live streaming, TV channel, where & how to watch: ATP Shanghai Masters 2026
Zverev remains on track to take over as World No. 1
Alexander Zverev defeated World No. 9 De Minaur 6-4, 6-4, as he pursues his maiden Shanghai Masters title this week. Zverev returned to the semi-finals for the third time as he looks to become the World No. 1 for the first time in his career.
The 6’6” German took 78 minutes to down De Minaur and set up an eighth career meeting with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Zverev is on a three-match winning streak against the Spaniard. Their last meeting at the 2025 Paris Masters saw Zverev winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
If Zverev prevails, it will be his first Masters 1000 title since 2024 in Paris. A title run at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena will hand Zverev the No. 1 ranking.
The Spaniard, seeded 25th in Shanghai, advanced to his fourth Masters 1000 semi-final following the retirement of Arthur Gea from their quarter-final encounter due to injury.
Fokina was leading 4-1 in the opening set when Gea threw in the towel. The Spaniard put together a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(6) victory over Novak Djokovic’s conqueror Hubert Hurkacz to ease into the last eight.
