Aryna Sabalenka joins Iga Swiatek, Serena Williams in exclusive list with latest feat

Aryna Sabalenka finished back-to-back seasons as No. 1.
​World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has completed 100 weeks as the top-ranked player in the WTA. She is just the 10th player to occupy the top spot for 100 weeks or more since the WTA rankings were introduced in 1975.
It is another milestone in Sabalenka’s career after finishing 2024 and 2025 as World No. 1. She went past Monica Seles’ 91 weeks on the list even as she closes in on Iga Swiatek’s 125 weeks at the top.
The Belarusian is in elite company, with only Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, Chris Evert, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Iga Swiatek, Ashleigh Barty and Justine Henin spending more time as No. 1.
Sabalenka’s reign of 92 consecutive weeks at the top has edged her ahead of Seles, who spent 91 weeks as World No. 1. The four-time Grand Slam champion is now in the sixth-longest uninterrupted stint as No. 1 ahead of Seles.
The Belarusian remained No. 1 throughout the 2025 season and has broken new ground in 2026. She completed the Sunshine Double feat by picking up WTA 1000 titles at Indian Wells and Miami this year.
Sabalenka has had a disappointing Grand Slam campaign, making early exits at the majors this season, losing to Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open final.
Her performance in Paris and London was also not good; she lost to Diana Shnaider in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and to Naomi Osaka in the fourth round at Wimbledon. Sabalenka is likely to be in action next at the Cincinnati Open, where she will hope to match her 2024 title run.
The 28-year-old will also look to defend her title at the US Open, where she is the two-time defending champion. She defeated Amanda Anisimova in straight sets last year to claim her second consecutive title in New York
