What takes place on the tennis courts is pure rivalry between the players, but off the court, they are friends. One of the best examples is Aryna Sabalenka, who describes her good friend, Novak Djokovic, as the nicest guy and the GOAT to take advice from.
Recently, at the US Open 2025, in an interview, World No. 1 Sabalenka opened up about her bond with the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
When asked to share “a little bit about being really good friends with the GOAT (Novak Djokovic),” Sabalenka laughed and said, “Oh, this guy is the best. He is fun, and we have played several fun exhibitions together. We know each other really well.”
Yes, for the fun part, the duo has indeed given fans ample of funny moments. From their playful press conference interruptions to the humorous on-court antics and social media banter, ‘Djokolenka’ has always kept the tennis world entertained.
Just last week in New York, Sabalenka unexpectedly crashed Djokovic’s practice session at Arthur Ashe Stadium. They shared a hug, and then the Belarusian also jokingly took on the role of his “ball girl.”

“Whenever you have a question or you’re trying to adopt something, and you just want advice from the GOAT, he’s always open to talk. Yeah, he’s amazing,” Sabalenka added.
