Stefanos Tsitsipas won his maiden ATP-500 title.
Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Felix Auger Aliassime to break his finals curse and secure his first-ever title in Dubai. It was third time lucky for the Greek as he finished runner-up at the Dubai Tennis Championships in 2019 and 2020.
Tsitsipas, who has one ATP finals title and three ATP-1000 wins, was yet to win an ATP-500 event. On his 12th attempt, the Greek tennis player finally managed to lay his hands on the silverware. This Dubai title could potentially be career-changing for the Greek.
After a disastrous 2025, involving first-round exits at the Australian Open 2025 and Qatar Open 2025, the 26-year-old suddenly found form in Dubai. The majestic backhand winners started paying off, along with a splendid mix of deftness and aggression, reminding fans of Tsitsipas in his prime.
Despite the loss, it was yet another excellent outing for Aliassime. The Canadian has shown remarkable consistency and currently tops the list for most matches won in 2024.
