Pegula won her third title in 2025, ahead of the Wimbledon Championships.
Jessica Pegula boosted her chances at Wimbledon 2025, after a solid win over Iga Swiatek in straight sets at the Bad Homburg Open 2025 final. The American clinched her second grass title, and her third in 2025. Pegula is certainly title contender now for the SW19, slated to begin from Monday.
Pegula recorded her best victory of the campaign in the semi-finals, when she came back from a set down to beat Noskova. She also beat No. #10 ranked Emma Navarro in the quarter-finals, further highlighting her prowess.
Swiatek on the other hand, reached her first final in 12 months. While there were encouraging signs for the Pole, mainly a dominating straight-set win over Paolini, her hunt for a title continues.
“I know you say you can’t play on grass, but you are very, very good on grass,” the 2025 Homburg champion said, addressing Swiatek after the match. “It was a special week.”
“[Pegula has] an amazing game, and [she] showed it throughout the tournament,” Swiatek remarked. “Hopefully we will have many more finals together. … I feel it is going a good way, and thank you for the opportunity to play here. This tournament shows there is hope for me on grass.”
Both players praised each other warmly, fully aware that the biggest goal awaits them in just a few days at the All England Club Championships.
