The total prize pool for the WTA Berlin Open 2025 stands at $1,064,500.

The WTA Berlin Open 2025 showdown has begun, marking it as one of the important events on the grass-court calendar, offering fans an opportunity to witness a convergence of tennis elites just two weeks before Wimbledon.

Spectators can enjoy world-class women’s tennis at this tournament as it features nine of the world’s top 10 players in the WTA singles rankings. World No. 7 Iga Swiatek is not participating due to physical and mental fatigue after a tough nine-week tour.

Swiatek’s decision to rest after her French Open triumph reflects the demanding nature of the season and her focus on recovery ahead of the Grand Slam in London.

From June 14th to 22nd, 2025, the event is scheduled to take place at the historic Rot-Weiss Tennis Club, with matches being held at the Steffi Graf Stadium, which has a capacity of up to 7,000 patrons. The venue is set in an atmosphere as vibrant as the intensity and traditions of the All England Club, further establishing Berlin’s reputation as a premier Wimbledon warm-up.

The singles main draw features 28 players, while the doubles features 16 teams. The singles field includes elite talent, headlined by World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who leads the entry list and is seeking her first Berlin title after dominating the tour in titles and finals this year.

Whereas, defending champion and World No. 3 Jessica Pegula returns after her dramatic victory in 2024 to maintain her position and performance. No. 2 Coco Gauff arrives fresh off her second Grand Slam title and two previous semifinal runs in Berlin.

The tournament featured seven Grand Slam champions, including Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu, both of whom are allowed wildcards. Also, the recent Wimbledon winners, Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova, are participating.

While other notable top contenders are ranked in the top 20, such as Jasmine Paolini, Qinwen Zheng, Mirra Andreeva, Madison Keys, Paula Badosa, and Emma Navarro. The participation ensures fierce competition in each round of the tournament, where players compete not only to win prize money but also for valuable WTA ranking points and titles.

Despite this, the Berlin tournament’s prize money is slightly lower compared to other major grass-court events such as The Queen’s Club Championships in London ($1,415,000/€1,230,000) and the Adelaide International ($1,064,510/€925,661).

However, the WTA Berlin Open by Hylo has introduced an approximate 15% increase in its prize pool this year. From around €802,000 ($915,000) to more than €949,000 (Approximately $1,064,500), surpassing the one-million-dollar mark for the first time.
