Coco Gauff vs Mirra Andreeva prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Italian Open 2025

Gauff and Andreeva headed for a fourth clay-court meeting.
Coco Gauff advanced to her fourth WTA 1000 clay-court quarter-final in convincing fashion with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Emma Raducanu on Monday. The American’s recent performance on clay bodes well for her with the French Open around the corner.
Gauff has won eight of her last nine matches played on clay, with the exception of the Madrid Open final, which she lost to Aryna Sabalenka. The 21-year-old is the youngest player to make the last eight at four clay-court WTA 1000s. The No #3 seed is a win away from returning to the semi-finals in Rome. She was a semi-finalist in 2021 and 2024, losing on both occasions to Iga Swiatek.
Mirra Andreeva, the No #7 seed, defeated Dane Clara Tauson for the third time this season in the fourth round of the ongoing Italian Open 2025. She set up the quarter-final meeting with Gauff after a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over Tauson at the Foro Italico.
Including her title runs in Dubai and Indian Wells and on registering her third straight victory over Tauson, Andreeva has won 18 WTA 1000 matches this season.

Preview
Gauff was in total control in her win over Emma Raducanu to reach the quarter-finals in Rome for the second straight year. With Iga Swiatek out of the picture, the American takes on the tag of second-highest seed in the clay-court WTA 1000 event.
Being the third seed means she is in the same half of the draw as Aryna Sabalenka. On Wednesday, Sabalenka and Qinwen Zheng will pick up from where they left off in Miami, where they crossed paths in the quarter-finals.
Before the anticipated night-session match between Sabalenka and Zheng, Gauff and Andreeva will slug it out to become the first to the semi-final round from the draw’s top half.
The other semi-final round will see No #6 seed Jasmine Paolini take on unseeded American Peyton Stearns for a place in the title round. Paolini edged Diana Shnaider, 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 6-2 in a close three-setter. She is now first Italian woman to reach the last four in Rome since her doubles partner Sara Errani in 2014.

Match Prediction
American Coco Gauff stands in the way of a Sabalenka-Andreeva reunion at the Italian Open. Gauff heads into her quarter-final match against Andreeva with a 3-0 head-to-head lead. She recently defeated the Russian teenager in straight sets in Madrid, 7-5, 6-1.
Gauff will be tough to beat in Rome, where she is a two-time semi-finalist (2021 and 2024). Facing her is quarter-final debutant Mirra Andreeva, who is yet to defeat Gauff on tour. Their upcoming meeting will be the fourth time they are meeting on your.
Had the meeting taken place two months ago, Andreeva may have been the favourite to carry the day. However, with Gauff exhibiting a mid-season resurgence on clay, it is the American who holds the cards, and it might just be a winning combination.
Result: Coco Gauff to win in three sets.
