Italian Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

Jannik Sinner is set to return, competing in front of his home crowd.
World No.1 Jannik Sinner is set to mark his return to professional tennis at Italian Open 2025, after serving a three-month suspension. Despite the Italian’s long absence, he remains at the top of the ATP rankings.
Alexander Zverev’s second spot will be at stake in Rome. The reigning champion must defend his title if he wishes to head into the French Open 2025 as the World No. 2. There is uncertainty over Carlos Alcaraz‘s participation, while six-time Italian Open winner Novak Djokovic has already announced his withdrawal after his opening round loss in Madrid.
The women’s field will see several big stars go head-to-head, with all eyes on defending champion Iga Swiatek. The Pole, who dominated the clay court season last year, has been without a title for almost a year. While she swept most clay tournaments last season, the second seed has faltered repeatedly in quarterfinals and semifinals of competitions this year.
Aryna Sabalenka will be the top contender, having already bagged three titles this season, while Coco Gauff would hope to avenge her Madrid Open loss, having returned to form lately.
The total prize money for the 2025 Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome is different for men and women, unlike Madrid and Miami. The ATP prize pool stands at $8,645,000 (₹72.3 crore), marking a 2.26% increase from 2024. Meanwhile, the WTA prize pool has jumped significantly to $6,911,000 (₹57.8 crore), marking a substantial 25.43% rise compared to last year.
