Davis Cup 2025: Draw for World Group I ties announced; India to face Switzerland

Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas will be taking part in the event.
The International Tennis Federation confirmed the draws for the Davis Cup 2025 World Group 1 ties, which comprises of nations that won the World Group I Play-offs earlier this year or lost in the 2025 Qualifiers first Round.
Also popularly called the World Cup of tennis, the competition will witness 13 ties, set to take place on either 12-13 or 13-14 September. The designated home nations have the flexibility to select both the venue and dates for their World Group I ties.
The victorious teams will advance to the 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers first Round, keeping their hopes alive for a place in the Final 8 tournament, set to be held at the end of 2026. Each tie will follow a best-of-five format, featuring two singles matches on the opening day, followed by a doubles match and two reverse singles matches on the second day.
The result of the World Group I ties will determine the teams advancing to the 2025 Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna, Italy, from November 18-23. Some of the biggest names from the current era will feature in this event, including 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jack Draper.
Team India, who will be facing the formidable Switzerland side, will be thrilled with the return of their number one singles player Sumit Nagal, along with World No. #39 in doubles, Yuki Bhambri. On that note, let’s take a look at the complete schedule for the event.
