Shnaider’s strong serving against Pohankova, including winning 80% of points behind her first serve, could be an important factor in the final.
The head-to-head record favours Shnaider, who leads 3-2 and has won their last three meetings, including two encounters earlier in 2026 in Adelaide and Charleston.
With both players arriving on winning streaks, the Tokyo final promises an intriguing battle between two in-form left-handers.
