The 22-year-old pulled off a stunning first-round win over 24th seed Veronika Kudermetova, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, becoming the first Indonesian woman in 22 years to win a Grand Slam singles match.

Tjen is currently ranked No. 149, and has had an impressive journey through the qualifiers, defeating Varvara Lepchenko 6-3, 6-1, Maja Chwalinska 7-5, 7-5, and Aoi Ito 6-1, 6-2.
