Tennis fans slam WTA for 'boring & forgettable' logo, to be launched at Indian Wells Open 2025

WTA is currently facing the heat after their latest logo announcement for the Indian Wells Open 2025.
Ahead of the all-important WTA-1000 Indian Wells Open 2025 tournament, the Women’s Tennis Association announced their new logo, which will be launched in the California event, scheduled to begin from March 2 on the outdoor hardcourts of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
However, the new logo features a minimalist design bearing the ‘WTA’ name in italics and ‘1000’ for the event. The logo was first spotted on the training courts at the Indian Wells.

The new green logo replacing the old purple one faced heavy criticism, with several fans demanding the return of the previous design.
The new logo promotion video includes all top stars—Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka, Mirra Andreeva, Qinwen Zheng and more- but did not feature World Number One Aryna Sabalenka, inviting more backlash for the association.
