Novak Djokovic eliminated Carlos Alcaraz during last year’s Roland Garros semi-finals.

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz recently took to social media and uploaded a couple of pictures after winning his maiden French Open title on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the final of the French Open 2024 to win his first Roland Garros title. With the triumph, he became the seventh Spanish player to win the clay-court Grand Slam.

In his recent Instagram post, the Spaniard shared an older picture where the 21-year-old can be seen watching the French Open at a screening event. Meanwhile, he also uploaded a recent picture with the prestigious Roland Garros trophy.

After defeating Zverev 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, to win his third Grand Slam title, Carlos Alcaraz stated that winning the clay court Major was an unbelievable experience for him. He said, “Since I was a little kid finishing school running just to put the TV on to watch this tournament and now I’m lifting the trophy in front of all of you. It’s been unbelievable the support I receive. I feel like home.”

The 21-year-old also revealed that he had been suffering from injury and fitness issues since the 2024 Madrid Open. In addition to that, he was doubtful about his performance at the French Open, and he wasn’t able to practice well before the tournament.

“I know that everyone in my team is giving their heart to make me improve as a player and as a person so I’m really grateful and I call you a team but it’s a family.”

The three-time Grand Slam champion also uploaded a picture on social media just after winning the 2024 French Open. He captioned the picture, “What can I say”.
