Rafael Nadal is a 14-time French Open champion, the most in the tournament’s history.
Nike has decided to release a special limited edition Rafael Nadal t-shirt for the ongoing French Open 2024.
The t-shirt has a graphic of Rafael Nadal from the 2005 Roland Garros, where he won his first Grand Slam title. Interestingly, the t-shirt has already started getting sold in Europe, but it’s yet to be set up for sale in other continents.
The Spaniard is currently playing his last ATP tour. Nadal made his comeback at Adelaide International in January. However, his comeback was cut short after his hip injury flared again. Due to the injury concerns, he was sidelined for three more months.
Nadal eventually returned to tennis with the ATP 500 Barcelona Open, where he lost against Australia’s Alex de Minaur. He later defeated the Aussie in the Madrid Open but came up short against Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round. He also played at the ATP 1000 Italian Open but suffered a harsh second-round loss against Polish tennis star Hubert Hurkcaz.
Thus, the 14-time Roland Garros champion has arrived in Paris with a win/loss record of 5/3 on clay in 2024. Poetically, the Spaniard’s first match is set up against three-time French Open semi-finalist Alexander Zverev.
Nadal played his last French Open in 2022, where he defeated Casper Ruud in the final in straight sets. However, in the semifinal, he had a nip-and-tuck contest against Zverev. With the scoreboard reading 7-6 (10-8), 6-6, the German tennis star was forced to retire due to a knee injury.

He later attended the match-ending presentation alongside Nadal on crutches. Nevertheless, after almost two years, Nadal is set to face Zverev at Stade Roland Garros again. Alexander Zverev has been in stellar form on clay as he won the Italian Open last week.
Additionally, he also took over Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the ATP rankings after the Rome triumph. The German tennis star has a win-loss record of 28-9 in 2024.
