Born on June 03, 1986, in Mallorca, Spain, Rafael Nadal, the king of clay, is recognized as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He turned professional in 2001 and has won 22 Grand Slams so far in the career spanning for over two decades. These include two Australian Open titles, 14 French Open, two Wimbledon and four US Open titles. Nadal is one of only two men to complete the Career Golden Slam, winning all four majors and the Olympic in a calendar year in singles. After defeating Djokovic at US Open 2010, then-24-year-old Nadal became the youngest man in the Open Era to achieve the Career Grand Slam. Among his achievements are also winning the Davis Cup titles five times. He has won the prestigious team event playing for the national men's team in 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2019. At 18, Nadal became the youngest player to register a singles victory in a Davis Cup 2004 final in a winning cause. He also holds the record for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the ATP singles rankings, having not left the top 10 from April 2005 to March 2023, a total accounting to a record 912 weeks. Also he is the only player to win 63 clay court titles with none of the other players close to this landmark. Nadal has been ranked world number one for 209 weeks in ATP singles rankings, and has finished as the year-end number one five times (2008, 2010, 2013, 2017, and 2019). He is also the only men's player to have been ranked world number one in three decades (2000s, 2010s, and 2020s) in the Open Era.
