Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa started dating during the 2023 French Open.

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas stated that he will be teaming up with Paula Badosa to play mixed doubles at the 2024 French Open because Paris is a special place for their relationship.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa started dating during the 2023 French Open. The Spanish tennis star was also spotted supporting Tsitsipas from the stands during his matches at the tournament. They made a joint playlist on the music streaming app Spotify.

In addition, they also created a joint Instagram account. The couple decided to play mixed doubles at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. However, due to Badosa’s injury, they had to withdraw from the competition.

After several delays and injury concerns, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa are finally set to play mixed doubles together at the 2024 French Open. The Greek tennis star said in an interview, “Paris holds a special place for me and Paula, that’s where we had our first date right before Roland-Garros last year, our anniversary occurs here. So, for us, it was a no-brainer to play our first mixed doubles at Roland-Garros.”

Earlier this month, Paula Badosa took to Instagram and claimed that the two tennis stars had ended their relationship mutually. However, last week, Stefanos Tsitsipas stated that they were still together and that they just wanted to take a break. He said, (as per Greek media), “We are together and doing very well. Neither of us has done anything wrong.”

He added, “It was difficult to combine the circuit and the relationship and I decided to take a break. Within two weeks I realized that she has been very supportive. When she said she would see me again, I noticed how intense our love was. My relationship with her is totally different from the others I had in the past.”

Tsitsipas is also competing in the men’s doubles category alongside his brother Petros Tsitsipas, apart from singles. He started his men’s singles campaign at the tournament with a 7-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Hungary’s Márton Fucsovics. Later, he defeated Daniel Altmaier in the second round. Meanwhile, Badosa also got off to a winning start against Katie Boulter.
