Former World No. 1, Iga Swiatek, broke several records en route to her title win.
Iga Swiatek delivered the performance of a lifetime on Saturday, as the centre court watched the former No. 1 destroy Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon 2025 final to win in a most dominating and flawless manner— 6-0, 6-0. This was only the second time in Grand Slam final history where was such a scoreline achieved, with Steffi Graf doing it against Natasha Zvereva at the 1988 Roland Garros.
Since 2024 French Open, Swiatek has not won a single title, going through a rough patch during the 2025 clay season. She slipped to the eighth spot on WTA rankings, and many criticised and doubted her.
However, she has replied to her haters in style, first ending her wait to reach the finals for the first time in over a year at a pre-Wimbledon grass event in Bad Homburg, and then going all the way at SW19.
The Pole’s sensational record in Grand Slam finals continues, as she extends her unbeaten streak in major finals to 6-0. She was simply flawless in her campaign in London, dropping just one set, in the second round of the tournament.

One of the key reasons for Swiatek’s success, was her serving. Topping the charts for the fastest average serves for the women’s event and consistently nailing her serves in a manner that made things tough for her rivals, coupled with her strong footwork and defensive game, helped her clinch the title for the first time at Wimbledon.
Her dominant performance in the final shattered multiple records, making her the active WTA player with most Grand Slam titles. At just 24, she also secured her 100th Grand Slam match win in the summit-clash.
Remarkably, her historic campaign saw her drop the fewest games ever en route to a Wimbledon title, underscoring her exceptional dominance throughout the tournament.
She has now won Slams on all three surfaces and is just the fifth youngest ever to do so, ending all baseless arguments about Swiatek being a clay-bully. Her heroics help her regain her spot in the top-3 WTA rankings, while finalist Anisimova too made her debut in the top-10.
