Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka, two of tennis’ biggest stars and Gucci brand ambassadors, turned heads while attending the Italian fashion house’s womenswear show in Milan on Friday.
Coincidentally, on the same day, Sinner also confirmed he would not return to Beijing this year to defend his title.
Sinner arrived under tight security and took a seat in one of the venue’s most exclusive areas, right next to longtime Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
Sinner’s look balanced between casual and elegant, with the Italian sporting wide-fit jeans and an open jacket. Reporters noted that the choice reflected his growing ease in the fashion world since becoming a Gucci ambassador.
Wintour, seemingly caught off guard by the withdrawal news that morning, turned to Sinner during the show and remarked, “I thought you were going to Beijing.”

The Italian laughed and replied, “I also thought so.” Later that evening, Sinner poked fun at his extended layoff, joking, “If I’m not ready in January, that’s going to be a big problem.”
Sabalenka, also seated in the audience as a fellow Gucci ambassador, was seen sharing a warm exchange with Sinner during the show, with the pair catching up between segments.
The Belarusian had her own memorable moment, trading notes with Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s wife.
The duo were also seen comparing their engagement rings in a clip that quickly went viral online. “Can I take a picture of yours to send to mine?” Sabalenka asked Rodriguez, before adding, jokingly, that she wanted to show her own fiancé, Georgios Frangulis, “what actually has to happen.”
Sabalenka will return to action at the China Open in Beijing, which begins on September 30, as she looks to reclaim the World No. 1 ranking she lost to Elena Rybakina at the 2026 US Open. For Sinner, though, there’s no such timeline yet.
The World No. 1 in men’s tennis has been out since his Wimbledon title win in July with a knee issue, and beyond confirming his absence from Beijing, he has given no official indication of when exactly he plans to return. Sinner’s name remains on the entry list for the Shanghai Masters, but his participation remains uncertain.
