What was Jannik Sinner's favourite subject in school? Tennis players reveal preferred subject

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner shocked fans with his answer.
Wimbledon 2025 has stunned players and fans worldwide, with several top stars crashing out of the Championships in the early stages. That, however, hasn’t dampened the mood of those still very much in the race for the title.
The most prestigious tournament on the tennis calendar, Wimbledon continues to find creative ways to bridge the gap between players and their supporters through innovative ideas and engaging content.
In its latest social media reel, Wimbledon’s official media team asks players about their favorite subject they studied in school, offering fans a fun and personal glimpse into their lives beyond the court.
Two-time reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz seemed to have no preferred subject, as he smartly dodged the question. Three-time Grand Slam winner and current World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and Daria Kasatkina were not interested in education, as they humorously described sports as their favourite subject.
Meanwhile, Ben Shelton gave the classic “every boy’s answer,” naming recess or lunch as his favourite subject. He’s likely one of those who eagerly waited for the bell to ring so he could dash out of class and make a beeline for the mess hall!
Iga Świątek proudly flaunted her love for math, sharing, “I love math, and I even did an extended maths program in high school, so yeah, I’m a math girl.”
The Pole wasn’t the only one showing off her number-crunching side — 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and two-time Grand Slam finalist Jasmine Paolini also declared math as their favorite subject, proving that quite a few stars on the court are just as sharp with equations as they are with their forehands.
18-year-old Mirra Andreeva didn’t want to disappoint any teachers – she took the question seriously and dutifully named English and Geography, her favourite subjects, as if she would get a grade based on her answer!
Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova and Karen Khachanov stood out as the only two science geeks in the group, both calling chemistry as their favorite subject.
Grigor Dimitrov, though, unlike the rest of the pack, named as many as five subjects, including Biology, Literature, Psychology, and English, and just when he seemed to run out of options, added Geography to the list. Andreeva’s doubles partner, Diana Shnaider, ended this reel on a hilarious note, commenting, “What was your favorite subject at school is the worst question ever.”
