Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev

Sinner and Zverev prepare for first ATP Finals meeting.

Defending champion Jannik Sinner is set to face Alexander Zverev in a highly anticipated round-robin clash at the ATP Finals 2025 on Wednesday, November 12, in Turin, Italy. This will mark their first-ever meeting at the season-ending event. Check the Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev match prediction below.

Felix Auger-Aliassime’s campaign at the 2025 ATP Finals didn’t have the perfect start as he lost to the current ATP World No.1 Jannik Sinner 7-5, 6-1. The Canadian was hampered by a calf injury and sought a medical timeout to treat it.

Auger-Aliassime’s movement was hampered as he lost his first ATP Finals match of this year in one hour and 40 minutes, a fourth straight loss to the Italian on tour.

Sinner is on a 27-match win streak on indoor hardcourts after defeating the Canadian in a rematch of their Paris Masters title-round face-off. Auger-Aliassime and Sinner were engaged in a hard-fought opening set, which ended when Sinner claimed a break of serve in the 12th game.

Playing his first ATP Finals since 2022, Auger-Aliassime put on a brave face, but was unable to keep Sinner at bay following the medical timeout and now trails the No. 2 seed 4-2 in their head-to-head. The Canadian’s 33 unforced errors eclipsed his 9 aces and 17 winners as he won only 38% of his second serve points.

On the other hand, two-time champion Alexander Zverev made a strong start to his 2025 campaign at the season finale when he overcame Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6(6). The German held his ground in the second set to stave off a trio of set points in the second set tiebreak to win their round robin match in 94 minutes.

The 28-year-old Zverev, who is bidding for his third ATP Finals title, is now 5-0 against Shelton. Zverev is second in the Bjorn Borg Group, behind Sinner. The American’s 20 winners kept pace with his unforced errors, 26, and that prevented Shelton from making a memorable debut in Turin.

Ben Shelton will now face Auger-Aliassime in the round-robin stage on Wednesday, while Zverev sets his sights on Sinner as they prepare for their fifth face-off of the season. Their upcoming meeting on Wednesday will be their first at the ATP Finals. The Italian leads their head-to-head 5-4.

Germany’s Zverev will now aim for his 19th ATP Finals victory against defending champion Jannik Sinner. Zverev’s last victory over Sinner came at the 2023 US Open.

The Italian has dominated their rivalry since then, including most recently at the 2025 ATP Masters 1000 Paris, where he completed a straight-set victory over Zverev to claim his maiden Paris Masters trophy.

Sinner, the top-ranked Italian, made a strong start to win his sixth straight match in Turin. His title run in 2024 in Turin made him the first Italian player to win the season finale.

Sinner is also locked in a battle with Carlos Alcaraz for the year-ending No. 1 position, and a win over Zverev will hand the Italian a crucial advantage towards that goal.

Match Prediction

The ATP Finals format is an indisputable pressure-cooker environment where progressing to the knockout stage can come down to the number of games won.

With that perspective, Sinner and Zverev will have everything to play for. The winner will take over the lead in the Bjorn Borg Group after both players registered wins in their respective round robin matches to kick off their campaign.

Having won four straight matches against Zverev in 2025, including back-to-back wins on indoor hard courts, we could be in for another clinical display from the defending champion.

Sinner and Zverev are slated to clash for the fifth time this season in the night session on Wednesday. The No. 2 seed is 11-0 on indoor hard courts, inclusive of title runs in Vienna and Paris, and looks all but unstoppable at this point.

Result: Sinner to win in three sets.
