Jannik Sinner vs Fabian Marozsan prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: China Open 2025

Jannik Sinner records 20th hard court win in 2025 against Terence Atmane.
Jannik Sinner was pushed hard this time around by French qualifier Terence Atmane at the China Open. The World No. 2 did what he does best, broke Altmane’s serve six times to advance 6-4, 5-7, 6-0 in their second round match.
It was their second tour-level meeting in the 2025 season. At last month’s Cincinnati Open, the Italian took out Altmane in the semi-finals in straight sets. The left-hand Altmane had Sinner on the back foot during the second set, converting three breakpoint opportunities against the 2023 champion.
Sinner’s fewer unforced errors – 12 to 19 by Atmane, saved the day for the Italian, who went past the finish line in two hours and 21 minutes, the longest match of Day 6. The Italian dialled up the tempo to bagel Atmane in the final set in just 34 minutes to wrap the contest for his 20th hard-court win of the season.
Sinner will now spar with Fabian Marozsan in the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 event. The World No. 2 is scheduled to play his 13th straight hard-court quarter-final against the Hungarian on Monday.
Marozsan, in contrast, breezed past in his second round contest with another Frenchman, Alexandre Muller, 63 76(5). It took just 94 minutes for Marozsan to find a way past Muller in their maiden tour-level meeting.
The hour-long second set needed a tie-break to decide the outcome. Both players faltered with their serves at this stage. In the end, it was Muller who blinked first, dropping his serve thrice in the tie-break to hand Marozsan the win.
The Budapest native, who reached the semi-finals at the ATP 500 event in Munich earlier this year, will have a similar outcome in his mind when he takes on Sinner in the last eight.

Preview
The 24-year-old Sinner became the first Italian to win in Beijing when he won the tournament in 2023. He was dethroned last season by Carlos Alcaraz and will look to make the most of the Spaniard’s absence and reclaim the crown. The Italian will be aiming to become the second man to reach the title round in Beijing for three consecutive years after Djokovic in 2012-15.
Sinner continues to keep pace with Carlos Alcaraz in the battle for ATP year-end No. 1 after overcoming the unseeded Frenchman. Maroszan, meanwhile, is targeting a return to the ATP Top 50 when he faces the Italian for a spot in the last four.
Maroszan, who is making his Beijing debut, is at No. 52 in the ATP Live Rankings. The Hungarian has stitched together a few impressive results against higher-ranked players this season, including Andrey Rublev and Ugo Humbert. He took a set off Alcaraz at Roland Garros, stretching the Spaniard to four sets at the clay court major.
In his previous meeting with Sinner at Halle last year, Marozsan tested the Italian. The Hungarian took the match into a decider after he won the second set tie-breaker.

Match Prediction
Jannik Sinner has been his usual efficient self, losing just two matches on hard courts. The Italian has reached three finals in a row and six overall; the sole setback took place at Halle, where he lost to Alexander Bublik in the second round.
Sinner’s brand of tennis is precise and consistent, yet he has shown his vulnerable side in the ongoing event. In the second round, he had to dig deeper than usual to move past French qualifier Terence Atmane.
The Italian’s win over Marozsan in their only ATP-level meeting last year was far from smooth sailing, as the Hungarian refused to cave in meekly at Halle, forcing the Italian to play the entire three sets in their second round clash at the ATP 500 event.
However, it is unlikely that the script will change in Beijing, where Sinner will forge another win on Monday.
Result: Sinner to win in three sets.
