How does top 10 of WTA rankings look after Wimbledon 2026?
Iga Swiatek fails to defend her Wimbledon title and drops to No. 8 in the WTA rankings.
Linda Noskova enjoyed a dream grass season, winning titles in Berlin and London, to storm into the top-10 rankings. She has achieved a new career high ranking of World No. 7, while finalist Karolina Muchova finds herself at #6, for the first time in her career.
One of the major storylines for this Wimbledon tournament, was the race to the top. Elena Rybakina was around 400 points away from making the World No. 1 ranking her own, but her shocking third-round loss to Elina Mertens ensured she stayed at #2. Aryna Sabalenka’s fourth round defeat meant the difference between the top-2 players remains only 407, making the second half of the 2026 season even more intriguing.
Jessica Pegula makes her return to the top-3 rankings, while Coco Gauff is back at #4 after reaching the semi-finals at SW19. Roland Garros champion Mirra Andreeva rounds up the top-five.
The biggest talking point though is the fall of Iga Swiatek. From #3 to #8, the 2025 Wimbledon champion was facing the stern challenge of defending her title at the All England Club, and her third round exit led to dramatic fall in rankings.
The Pole is also currently outside the top-10 in the WTA live race, and requires a massive turnaround at the upcoming Masters and US Open, if she wishes to qualify for the year-end finals. Last year’s runner-up Amanda Anisimova, too, suffered an early exit, and slipped from #6 to #9.
