Laver Cup 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details
Team World will be looking to defend their title in Laver Cup 2024.
The Laver Cup is back on September 20-22, 2024, at Berlin’s Uber Arena for its seventh edition since the initial 2017 edition.
World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz headlines Team Europe, counting on Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov to finally snap a two-year losing streak against the tough Team World, led by Americans Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton.
The format for the competition is three days-long and operates with a point-escalating system: one point for winning Day 1, two for winning Day 2 and the most important three for winning Day 3. The first team to 13 point wins the cup.
However, each match is best-of-three sets; the third set will not be played unless the score is tied at 10-10. Then it goes to a 10-point tiebreaker.
The early years belonged to Europe, which had dominated from 2017 through 2021; however, World has returned in a rush of consecutive titles, topping off a dominant 13-2 win in 2023.

A lot more is on the line than usual since the event marks the last hurrah for legendary captains Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe from Europe and World, respectively, who will be replaced by next year’s captains, Yannick Noah of Europe and Andre Agassi of World, when the tournament takes place in 2025.
The Laver Cup, held annually in cities in Europe and the world on indoor hard courts, honours Rod Laver, the only tennis player to win two calendar-year Grand Slams (1962 and 1969).
Rafael Nadal has withdrawn, along with Novak Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner, as the key players missing this year’s edition.
