Top four men's singles players with best odds to win US Open 2026
Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal opens up the ATP field ahead of the US Open
Since 2008, no man has successfully defended the US Open title. In this regard, Roger Federer’s dominance at the event remains unmatched, having won three consecutive titles from 2004 to 2008. The final Grand Slam of the year provides the rest of the ATP field with an opportunity to clinch the biggest prize in tennis.
The event also marks the return of some big names, but the withdrawal of Jannik Sinner has single-handedly shifted the entire narrative of the 2026 US Open. The field is now completely open, and the ATP field could witness the crowning of a fourth different Grand Slam champion in 2026.
For all those of you wanting to bet on the upcoming Grand Slam event, here are the top ATP players with the best odds.
Men’s singles players with best odds of winning US Open 2026:
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Carlos Alcaraz (+140)
Carlos Alcaraz will be back in action at the US Open, nearly six months since injuring his wrist in Barcelona. Despite his long absence, the Spaniard is tipped as the favorite for the title, highlighting the massive gulf in quality between Sinner-Alcaraz and the rest of the field.
The defending champion played two mixed doubles matches at the US Open 2026 alongside Serena Williams. He looked far from his best in those two matches, struggling with his serve and looking rusty as one would expect. For Alcaraz to have a successful stint in New York, he will have to raise his level significantly, which could be a challenge given his limited match-practice ahead of the Slam.
Alexander Zverev (+300)
Alexander Zverev broke his Grand Slam curse at the French Open, and has been presented with another strong chance to win a major. The top seed will not face Alcaraz until the final (should they qualify), meaning his draw is expected to be largely smooth.
The German will rely on his serve and thunderous groundstrokes, but his recent results at Flushing Meadows offer little promise. Moreover, Zverev crashed out of the opening round in Montreal, and suffered a Round of 16 defeat in Cincinnati, which indicates that his recent form has been modest.
Ben Shelton (+750)
Ben Shelton is level with Novak Djokovic on the list, but enters on the back of fitness concerns. After defending his Canadian Open title, the American lost the opening round in Cincinnati, and later opted out of the US Open mixed doubles.
Shelton is still one of the best hard-court players in men’s singles at the moment, but his over-reliance on serve and limitations in playing a perfect all-round game have hurt him in pressure situations.
Taylor Fritz (+1000)
Taylor Fritz is certainly a dark horse for this edition of the US Open. He has not had the year he would have liked so far, and his form heading into New York isn’t great either, going down in the first round of the Canadian Open and the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open.
Having said that, Fritz at his best has the ability to decimate his opponents with his booming serve and ruthless groundstrokes. If he enters the Major at 100%, he could certainly spring a surprise and win his maiden Grand Slam title.
Felix Auger Aliassime, 2023 winner Daniil Medvedev and Jakub Mensik round out the list.
