This will be the fourth meeting between both players and first in finals.

The Miami Open 2024 finals will conclude the ATP event with two giant-slaying players set to compete for the title. The second seed, Jannik Sinner, will face-off against World No. 12 Grigor Dimitrov for the championship. Both Sinner and Dimitrov are in excellent form entering the title contest.

Sinner has been on a dream run in 2024. He has won 21 of his 22 matches this season, including top-of-the-podium finishes at the Australian Open and the Rotterdam Open 2024. The Italian was disappointed to miss out at Indian Wells, where he was ousted in the semifinals. The loss ensured that he erased any complacency, as the 22-year-old has set his sights on the title.

He will not have an easy time against Grigor Dimitrov, who has had a successful run, beating top favorites to reach the finals. The Bulgarian has notched up 19 wins this season, including the Brisbane International title. After missing out on a couple of tournaments, the 32-year-old has regained his form at the Miami Open, beating some of the top seeds

Jannik Sinner vs Grigor Dimitrov preview

Dimitrov entered the Miami Open after a disappointing fourth-place finish at Indian Wells. His Miami campaign began with a hard-fought three-set victory over Alejandro Tabilo. In the second round, he dominated German player Yannick Hanfmann with a 6-1, 6-0 win. He then went on to defeat Hubert Hurkacz in another thrilling three-set match.

In the quarterfinals and semifinals, Miami witnessed enthralling tennis from the Bulgarian. He ousted the No.1 seed Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. In his penultimate match of the Miami Open, the 32-year-old defeated Alexander Zverev in three sets, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4, showcasing his incredible skills. His confidence will be high as he prepares for the clash against Sinner.

Jannik Sinner won’t be an easy opponent. The Italian, who enjoys playing in Miami, will be competing in the finals in Florida for the second consecutive year, his third in four years. He has maintained his strong performance in 2024. His dominating win against defending champion Daniil Medvedev has demonstrated his class and he will be a tough opponent for Dimitrov.

Prediction

The fans in Miami are set to witness a close contest between two in-form players. Both relish playing in big matches and derive inspiration from performing against quality players. Sinner has slowly started to show the star that he is slated to become. Winning the 2024 Australian Open showed the world how hungry the Italian is to win titles.

Fans have also enjoyed the tennis shown by the 22-year-old, especially the tricks he has shown at the baseline, which have been a joy to watch. He will again look to control the game with some powerful shots from the baseline. Although Sinner might be a higher-ranked player, Dimitrov will be looking to create an upset, like he has done with Alcaraz and Zverev in the quarters and semis respectively.

Dimitrov will look to approach the finals like he did in his previous couple of matches, where he was looking to play to his strengths rather than worry about the opponent and his ranking. He will look to play more drop volleys at the net which has outperformed many. While the strategy has worked so far, it just might not be enough against Jannik Sinner.

Result: Jannik Sinner to win in three sets
