Novak Djokovic is currently fourth in the ATP Rankings and ninth in the Race to the Finals rankings.
Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic recently talked about not allowing his kids, Stefan and Tara, to have personal mobile phones. The 24-time Grand Slam champion also stated that he often gets into arguments with his wife about the allowance of personal mobile devices for their children.
After failing to defend his title at US Open 2024, Djokovic joined the Serbian tennis team for their Davis Cup fixture against Greece. Facing Ioannis Xilas in the first match, Djokovic put up a dominant display and won the match 6-0, 6-1 in only 45 minutes.
After sealing the victory, he headed towards his family in the audience and celebrated with them. He also ate popcorn from his daughter, Taraâs tub while his wife, Jelena Djokovic was standing behind.
However, during a recent interview with Blic, Novak Djokovic revealed that his children, Stefan (9) and Tara (7), donât own personal phones. He stated that his children complain that all the other kids at the school own mobile devices, but they donât have any.
Djokovic also added that his wife, Jelena, also argues with him about allowing their children to own mobile phones. However, he wonât allow them mobile because he wants his kids to be active and unique, not a part of the bandwagon.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion said, âMy children still donât have a cell phone, my wife and I argue. They complain: âAt school, everyone has one except usâ. Itâs not easy and this is reflected on other levels as well.â
The 2024 Paris Olympics gold medallist added, âIf everyone does something, the herd behaves like this, you have to follow them. Well, it doesnât have to be like that. This is where I think we differ from others because we are stubborn and active.â
During the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets in only two hours and 28 minutes, Djokovic emphasised the importance of living an active lifestyle. In an interview with the Tennis Channel, the Serbian tennis star stated that he keeps track of his childrenâs extracurricular and sporting activities.

Djokovic said, âOut of the two parents, I am the one that is responsible for their activities, sports, healthy lifestyle. I want them⌠I have always sometimes, exactly â she is rolling her eyes right now (pointed to his wife) as I am speaking.â
He further added, âI keep on in a way reminding them how important it is to be active, just do sports, I mean whether it is tennis or whatever it is, just be active, be out there. So I try to take them on with me on tennis every day, even if itâs the match day I want them to be here with me.â
