Novak Djokovic will eye a record 25th Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows.
Off the court and now on it, Novak Djokovic seems to be enjoying his time despite below-par performances of late. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has only won one title this season and two—including Olympic gold at Paris—since 2024.
The 38-year-old recently paired with fellow Serbian Olga Danilovic at the US Open 2025 mixed doubles event. However, the pair did not get the result they hoped for as Novak-Olga crashed out in the opening round itself. But notwithstanding the loss, Djokovic did have his moments.
The Serbian duo faced a tough challenge against Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva in the revamped “fast four” mixed doubles format at Flushing Meadows. Despite some good moments, Djokovic and Danilovic went down 2-4, 3-5 in the round of 16.
However, the highlight of the night came mid-match. In a tense rally at the net and baseline, Djokovic broke through with a brilliant forehand winner that clipped the line past Medvedev. The crowd erupted in applause.

Djokovic then celebrated that with a playful dance, sending the stadium into louder cheers. A short clip of his celebration quickly went viral on social media.
It was the first time Djokovic was in action since his Wimbledon heartbreak, where he fell in the semi-finals to world No.1 Jannik Sinner. It was also his first-ever entry into the US Open mixed doubles competition.
Djokovic’s legacy at Flushing Meadows, however, is already cemented. He has won the US Open men’s singles title four times—in 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2023—and has been runner-up six more times. His tally of 10 singles finals is the most by any player in the Open Era.
