Novak Djokovic retired from the fourth round at the 2024 French Open.

Novak Djokovic recently posted a video clip on social media where the Serb can be seen working out.

Last week, the Serbian tennis star withdrew from the 2024 French Open ahead of his quarter-final fixture against two-time Roland-Garros runner-up Casper Ruud. Djokovic was suffering from a right knee injury that flared during his fourth round match against Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo.

After further scans, it was revealed that the Serbian tennis star had suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee. He underwent surgery for the same last Wednesday in Paris. Djokovic later took to social media and uploaded a picture with his family and team.

He gave his fans a heads up about his injury and surgery. As per multiple reports, the Serb is expected to miss at least three weeks of action. Thus, he will reportedly miss the 2024 Wimbledon Championships to get sufficient time for his Paris Olympics preparations.

Nevertheless, the Serb recently uploaded a video on his Instagram account, where he can be seen working out and undertaking rehab following the surgical procedure. A white tape is visible on Novak Djokovic’s right leg, but the Serb can be seen working out without any pain, which is a good sign for all tennis enthusiasts.

He captioned the video, “Progress.” With the video, it seems like Novak Djokovic will make his return before the 2024 Wimbledon, scheduled from July 1 to 14.

However, the Serbian tennis star has also talked about representing his nation at the sporting megafest, the Olympics. Djokovic is an Olympic bronze medalist. He won the medal during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. However, his desire to win a gold medal is yet to be fulfilled and the 2024 Paris Olympics might be his last chance.

Recalling his only Olympic bronze medal, the Serb said, “I won a bronze medal quite a long time ago at Beijing 2008. I had the greatest honour of carrying the Serbian flag in the opening ceremony.”

Djokovic added, “I haven’t had an experience of the opening ceremony since London 2012. So, I really hope that I’ll be able to experience that and enjoy my experience at the Olympic Games (in Paris) because it’s like nothing else.”
