WATCH: Novak Djokovic meets FIFA president ahead of Argentina vs Spain World Cup final

Novak Djokovic’s documentary series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on August 20.

Novak Djokovic traded the tennis court for the red carpet on July 16, hosting the world premiere of his Prime Video documentary “Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where FIFA president Gianni Infantino was among the high-profile guests in attendance.

The screening at MoMA on July 16 drew a wide-ranging guest list from across sport, fashion and entertainment.

Alongside Djokovic and director Jason Hehir were Anna Wintour, Mike Tyson, Gayle King, John McEnroe, Ryan Clark, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Evangelista de Morais, Roberto Carlos and FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Djokovic’s documentary will be released on Prime Video on August 20, just in time for the US Open 2026, which begins August 30 in New York.

However, this week New York is also the centre of the football world, with the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Infantino had spent much of the week in the city ahead of that occasion, and his appearance at Djokovic’s premiere came a day after he stood alongside President Trump at a reception at Trump Tower, where both men declared the tournament a success before the final had even been played.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion himself could be among the star guests watching the World Cup final. The World Cup connection adds another layer to an already busy week for Djokovic in New York. He arrived in the city just days after his straight-sets defeat to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

By remaining in the spotlight during the world’s most-watched tennis tournament, Djokovic has generated significant buzz around his upcoming documentary. Given the success of Rafael Nadal’s Rafa series on Netflix just a few weeks ago, Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter is also expected to attract considerable attention.

It was also worth noting that Djokovic’s World Cup prediction did not exactly age well. Earlier this year, he had called a Portugal versus Mexico final with Portugal winning. Instead, the final is Spain versus Argentina, a matchup that leaves his forecast well wide of the mark.

Djokovic is expected to be back in action at the Cincinnati Open, which starts from August 11. He is currently on the entry list, and if he plays, it will be his first appearance in the tournament since winning the trophy in 2023.

When will Novak Djokovic return to tennis action?

Djokovic is currently on the entry list for the National Bank Open in Montreal, where he is expected to use the Masters 1000 event as a warm-up for the US Open in late August.

When will Novak Djokovic’s documentary series premiere?

Djokovic’s documentary series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on August 20.
